Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Mary Louise Ross

September 21, 1955 – May 17, 2026

Mary Louise Ross, aged 70, peacefully transitioned to glory on May 17, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by the love of her devoted sons.

Mary was born on September 21, 1955, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to the late Mary Jackson and Luzzelle Ross. As a child, she briefly lived in Detroit before her family relocated to New Jersey. It was there that Mary grew up, attending local schools and ultimately graduating from East Orange High School in 1973.

Blessed with a sharp mind and a passion for helping others, Mary pursued higher education with great determination. She attended Essex County College, where she studied to become an Operating Room Technician. Driven to continually elevate herself, she later furthered her education by taking classes at both Rutgers University and Seton Hall University.

In 1979, Mary welcomed her first bundle of joy, her son Jason Hodge. For many years, she applied her immense skills and compassionate heart as an O.R. Technician at Saint Barnabas Hospital in New Jersey.

Life eventually brought Mary back to her roots in Johnstown, PA, where she met and fell deeply in love with Clyde Allen. Together, they welcomed their son, Imani Allen, into the world in 1996 while living in Columbus, Ohio. In 1999, Mary and Clyde beautifully solidified their union and became husband and wife.

The family later settled in Essex, Maryland, where Mary expanded her career as a traveling OR Technician. A few years later, she returned to New Jersey, continuing her vital work across several hospitals. Sadly, in 2004, her beloved husband Clyde was called home to glory.

In her later years, Mary relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, to be close to her son Jason. Mary was a woman of faith, resilience, and boundless love for her family. Her legacy as a healer in the operating room and a pillar of strength at home will never be forgotten.

She leaves behind a rich tapestry of family to cherish her memory Her Loving Sons: Jason Hodge and Imani Allen. Her honorary son Winston Azie Hodge. Her Siblings: Sister Rose Wilson (Jerome) and brother Mustafa Ameen (Angela). Her Nieces and Nephews: Sharone Anderson Davis, Sharrunda Ross (deceased), Karima Ameen, Aisha Ameen, and Marlando Barnes. A host of great and great-great nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Mary has fought the good fight, she has finished her course, and she has kept the faith. May she rest in eternal peace and glory.
