Ricky Henderson was born on July 5, 1961, in Fort Worth, Texas, at Harris Downtown Fort Worth. He grew up in Fort Worth, attended local schools, and graduated before answering the call to serve his country by joining the military.
For more than 23 years, Ricky dedicated his life to military service with honor, courage, and unwavering commitment. Throughout his career, he faithfully served whenever and wherever he was needed, often sacrificing precious time with family and loved ones. Service was never simply a duty to Ricky—it was a reflection of his character, his integrity, and his deep love for his country. His dedication helped protect the freedoms that so many enjoy today.
Following his military retirement, Ricky continued serving others through his work as a certified mechanic specializing in large commercial trucks and military vehicles. Whether in uniform or in the workshop, he approached every task with determination, skill, and pride.
After a courageous battle with metastatic lung cancer, Ricky’s fight has come to an end. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his strength, loyalty, and devotion to others will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ricky is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Heidi Henderson; his stepson, Daniel Parshall; his close friends, Alicia Smith and Jonathan Smith; and countless military brothers and friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.
Ricky’s legacy of service, hard work, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
